BLUE NOTES FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 2008

10:00 A.M. this coming Saturday, May 3: That’s the time.
83 South Deere Park Drive in Highland Park: That’s the place.
Preparing patron mailings for our spring fund drive: That’s the job.
Making an important contribution while enjoying friendly conversation and yummy     treats: That’s the reward.
“I’ll be there!”: That’s the response.
847/433-0498: That’s the number to call to give Barbara Weiner this response or to get more information.

The Nominating Committee is seeking people interested in helping on various committees:  Art, Desktop Publishing, and Publicity (these tasks can be rearranged, depending on who would like to do what), Patrons, and Concert Set-up.  If you might be interested, or would like to know more about what tasks these committees have traditionally done, please talk to anyone on the Committee: Bass John Summerhays, Altos Joan Merchan and Karen Rigotti, Soprano Karen Fish Schurder, or Tenor Dave Wojtowicz.

Anne Harkonen has Elijah tickets for sale this evening—before rehearsal begins and during the break.  Remember the prices? $22.00 regular, $20.00 senior, $12.00 youth.

It’s about the Poulenc CDs: They will soon be ready. Larry Eckerling was disappointed that--because of the positioning of the mikes--we are sometimes overwhelmed by the orchestra; as a result, we are being offered these CDs for $10.00 (no more than two to a customer). Next Tuesday, we will have an opportunity to hear the CD and then make up our minds whether to buy or not. (They will probably be available at that time.)

Up-to-date membership lists are still available. Contracts for donations to the silent auction at the November benefit are, too,

Last week, Ellen Schrodt, host of "Our Town Evanston," interviewed Donald and Sharon regarding the Elijah concert on Saturday, June 7. The Evanston Channel 6 Cable Access Show will air on Tuesday, May 22, at 7:30 P.M., and on Saturday, May 26, at 1:00 P.M. Reminders will be frequent.

Following Evensong this coming Sunday, May 4, Roland Martin, organ professor at the State University of New York in Buffalo, will give an organ concert at The Parish Church of Saint Luke. 939 Hinman Avenue in Evanston. In addition, at Evensong, the choirs will sing Martin’s setting in C Major of the Evening Canticles, with the composer himself accompanying at the organ.
