BLUE
NOTES FOR TUESDAY, JANUARY 20. 2009
Remember to wear a nametag, please. If you want a temporary
one, make your own at a table in the narthex. If you want a replacement
for a permanent one, please sign up at a table in the narthex. If you
want both…
If you are interested in singing one of the short solo parts in Chichester
Psalms, there is still an opportunity to do so. Please sign
up in the juice area this evening to audition next Tuesday, beginning
at 6:45. One singer for each voice part is needed in sections 1 and
3.
The t-shirts have arrived! They will be distributed next Tuesday evening,
January 27, between 7:00 and 7:25, and during the break. Section Coordinators
will set up in the gathering area to hand them out and to collect any
money that is owed. Sanna has an example of each t-shirt this evening
for show-and-tell. We may want to arrive a few minutes early next week
so that this distribution does not compromise our rehearsal time.
Thanks to all who bought t-shirts. Each represents a donation
to NSCS, and together they will make us the most colorful chorus in
Chicago.
Many thanks to those Benefit persons who schlepped the silent auction
remainders here last Tuesday and wrung the final dollars from their
sale—a greatly appreciated $308.25. What remained has been sent
along to Glenkirk School for its upcoming silent auction. The members
of the Benefit Committee who made this possible include Ellen and Bill
Pullin, Gary and Margarete Hendrickson, Karen Rigotti, Lynne Curtis,
Harry Vroegh, Yael Wurmfeld, Anne Harkonen, Steve Warner, David Hunt,
Susan Demaree, and Julie McDowell.
These times and dates again:
***at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 21, here at Trinity: our make-up
rehearsal
***at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 28, at St. Luke’s: a rehearsal
with orchestra
***at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 29, at St. Luke’s: our
dress rehearsal
David is interested in having feedback from us regarding any musical
matters of concern. He welcomes these comments in person at rehearsals
(before, after, during the break), through our Section Coordinators,
and/or by email at david.stech@gmail.com.
Anthony Green reports that the sale of The Extraordinary Ordinary! CD
is the most successful in NSCS history. Anyone who has not picked up
his/her copy and/or owes Anthony money, please see him in the narthex
during this evening’s break.
This coming Sunday, January 25, at 3:00 P.M., Northminster Presbyterian
Church, 2515 Central Park Avenue in Evanston, presents Paul Vanderwerf,

and Saint-Saëns. Admission is free; donations are welcome.
