Missa Gaia Weekend April 5-6
The NSCS concert of Missa Gaia—Earth Mass on April 6, 2014 had great print and internet coverage!
Singing the Missa Gaia offered special opportunities to celebrate the many connections of our community choir. The piece requires musical collaboration with many other musical artists. We also included artists of other art forms as well— dance, sculpture and painting.
Missa Gaia expresses love and respect for earth and all its creatures. This inspired us to use our members' contact in the ecological community to pursue projects related to these themes. We ran a drive throughout our rehearsal period to collect shoes for recycling for Sole4Souls. On Saturday, April 5th, we participated in the projects we planned with local ecological groups. We also had representatives of these, and other groups, exhibit their programs on the day of the concert.
