North Shore Choral Society’s Donald Chen Young Artist Award Competition Scheduled
The Dr. Donald Chen Young Artist Award, established in 2008, supports and promotes young, emerging singers. A competition, open to aspiring singers ages 19-26 who reside in the Chicago area, will be held on Saturday, March 31st, 2012. Eight finalists will be selected from submitted applications to compete in a live audition before a panel of judges. The audition will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1024 Lake Avenue in Wilmette and will be open to the public.
Our 76th Season, 2011-12
The North Shore Choral Society invites you to join us for our seventy-sixth season! Back by popular demand, we presented a wide variety of holiday music at Glenview Community Church in late November. In early December we will join with the Evanston Symphony Orchestra for their annual holiday concert in Evanston. In March we will present the hugely popular Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, and we’ll cap off this exciting season in June with G. F. Handel’s gorgeous and thrilling Israel in Egypt featuring full orchestra and soloists.
